33 PERSONS ARRESTED FOR VIOLATING CORONAVIRUS LAW IN EBONYI STATE

Ebonyi State Government has arrested thirty-three suspects between the ages of eighteen and twenty-four for holding up in two rooms against the provisions of Coronavirus and other dangerous infections related matters Law.

Briefing journalists in Abakaliki, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kenneth Ugbala, explained that the suspects were arrested by neighbourhood watch group.

He noted that preliminary investigations suggested that the suspects moved in from different parts of the country and claimed to be engaged in networking business.

Dr. Ugbala said, given their number, they went against the social distancing procedure of preventing the spread of Coronavirus while reports indicated they also engaged in clandestine activities, which were the subject of investigations.

He said at the end of the investigations by the Police, the state would know the next line of action.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the Land Lord of the House, where those arrested were holding up, was also arrested for violating the law on Coronavirus.
