SOME MAJOR MARKETS IN ENUGU METROPOLIS ARE BEEHIVE OF ACTIVITIES EVEN ON THE CHRISTMAS DAY.

At Mayor Market Agbani Road and Holy Ghost Ogbete Main Market, traders were seen in their numbers making brisk sales.

Some of them in an interview with Radio Nigeria thanked God for being alive to celebrate another Christmas but said they were in the market because they needed money to meet their needs.

In the meantime, some Christian faithful in Enugu metropolis have described this year’s Christmas celebration as low keyed.

They attributed the situation to high cost of commodities due to the harsh economic situation in the country.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria, one of them, Mr. Onyeka Duluibeako, said despite the difficulties, the occasion remained a period for people to show love to one another as exemplified by Jesus Christ.

Other respondents, Miss Tina Okeh, and Mr. Obinna Chinwtalu expressed gratitude to God for making it possible for them to be part of this year’s celebration.

Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, some major roads in Enugu metropolis, including Agbani Road, Ziks Avenue and Holy Ghost, Ogbete Roads, were relatively free of traffic jam often witnessed at this time of the day.
