INEC COMMENCES DISTRIBUTION OF ELECTION MATERIASLS IN ANAMBRA STATE AHEAD OF SATURDAY’S ELECTION

INEC has started the distribution of sensitive materials for this Saturday’s State House of Assembly election in Anambra state.

The distribution which took place at the Central Bank of Nigeria headquarters in Awka involved the movement of the materials across the twenty one local government areas of the state.

Addressing newsmen, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state,

Dr. Nkwachukwu Orji said everything was on course and that the commission was determined to ensure that the election was free and fair.

He said the election would be conducted along with the supplementary election for Aguata and Idemili South Federal Constituency.

Dr. Orji explained that the supplementary election was necessitated as a result of violence that erupted in some of the polling units in the areas and called on the people to be lawful during the exercise and to report any attempt at breach of peace to the law enforcement agents.

Our Correspondent reports that security agencies as well as some political party representatives witnessed the event.
