INEC BEGINS PVC DISTRIBUTION IN ABIA

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Abia State has commenced the first phase of 2018 Continuous Voters Registrationand the distribution of Permanent Voter’s cards in the state.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr. Joseph Ilohsaid this while briefing Newsmen on the activities of the commission inUmuahia.

He noted that the exercise which would take place in all INEC officesacross the 17 local government areas of the state was to be donein a structured manner to enable prospective voters to have access toregistration centers.

Dr. Iloh explained that the exercise was meant for people who losttheir Permanent Voters Cards and needed a replacement, those that had attained the age of 18 by January this year, those who wanted toreplace defaced PVC and those yet to collect their PVC from previous registration.

Dr. Iloh assured residents of the state that INEC was committed to a free, fair and credible election in 2019.
