A full-scale meeting is to hold today in Abuja over the new minimum wage.

This was part of decisions taken when Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo met with the Ministers of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige, Finance, Zainab Ahmed, and Budget, Udoma Udo Udoma over the new wage.

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has rejected the new minimum wage of twenty two thousand, five hundred naira proposed by the Governors’ Forum.

NLC President, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, insisted that the planned industrial action slated for next Tuesday will hold.

He described the resolution of the governors as unknown to Labour laws and contrary to the overall decision of the Tripartite Committee.

Similarly, the Federal Government has rejected the proposal by the Governors’ Forum.

The Minister of Labour and productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige said in a television programme in Abuja that the Federal government was not in support of the amount pledged by the Governors.

Dr. Ngige stated that the Governors had not done enough regarding the workers’ new wage.
