NLC SAY THERE’S NO GOING BACK ON 30,000 MINIMUM WAGE

The President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba Waba says it is either the implementation of the new national minimum wage of thirty thousand naira or nothing else

Comrade Waba made this known during the Workers’ rally held in Awka, Anambra State by the Organized Labour.

Represented by the National President of Non-academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, Comrade Chris Ani, Comrade Waba said the rally was to sensitize Nigerian workers to their plights and mobilize them for the impending indefinite strike scheduled to take place on the sixth of next month if the government refused to pay the thirty thousand naira as agreed upon.

Comrade Waba suggested that any governor who could not pay the new national minimum wage should resign honourably.

In a remark, the State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Jerry Nnubia noted that Nigerian workers were suffering as a result of what he called negative policies of the government.

He explained that the workers were not threatened by the, no work no pay policy of the government as Labour insisted on, no pay no work.

Comrade Nnubia described the impending indefinite strike as the mother of all strikes.

Many other Labour Leaders in the State spoke in the same tone.

Over one thousand, five hundred workers cladded in black attire participated in the event.
