WORKERS IN EBONYI STATE URGED TO STOCK THEIR HOMES WITH ENOUGH FOOD ITEMS

The Organised Labour has urged workers in Ebonyi State to stock their homes with enough food items as it mobilizes for an indefinite nationwide strike over a new minimum wage of thirty thousand Naira.

The President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba Waba made the call in a message to National Day of Mourning and Outrage held by Nigerian workers in Abakaliki.

Represented by the National President, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Comrade Samson Ugwoke, NLC President Comrade Wabba announced the resolve of the Organised Labour to shut down the country until Federal Government announces thirty thousand Naira Minimum wage as agreed by the tripartite committee.

The Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress in the State, Comrade Ikechukwu Nwafor described the approach of some State Government to the new minimum wage as unfortunate noting that many had not even paid eighteen thousand Naira minimum wage to their workers even after Paris club money was made available to them.
