FRCN ENUGU’S CHINELO OZOALOR WINS 13TH WOLE SHOYINKA AWARD FOR INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM FOR THE RADIO CATEGORY

The 13thWole Soyinka Award for Investigative Journalism has been held in Lagos with winners emerging in the six categories considered.

They include outstanding journalists from the print, radio, television, photo, cartoon and on-line categories.

Twelve finalists were selected from 136 entries received and six emerged as final winners.

FRCN, Enugu National Station News Staff, Miss. Chinelo Ozoalor, won the award for the Radio category after nine years of no winner emerging in that category.

Others include, the honorary award, which went to the chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Channels Media Group, Mr. John Momoh, and the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), Mr. Waziri Adio.

Wole Soyinka Center for Investigative Journalism is a non-profit, non- governmental organization with headquarters in Lagos and with the focus to call attention to the media in general and investigative journalism to promote good governance.
