FG TO PROCURE MORE MILITARY EQUIPMENT TO TACKLE INSECURITY

The Federal Government has completed processes for the procurement of more military equipment to address armed banditry and other related security challenges in the country.

The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan Ali stated this in a town hall meeting in Gusau, Zamfara State organized by the Ministry of Information and Culture in collaboration with National Orientation Agency.

The Minister explained that in addition to the equipment, the Government was also taking steps to establish Aeronautic School in Zamfara State to enhance military response to security breaches.

The Minister of information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed commended the Zamfara State Governor for efforts taken so far to address security problems in the State.

He said the Federal Government had done a lot to tackle armed banditry, cattle rustling and herders-farmers crisis not only in Zamfara but in all states confronted by the problem.

The Guest Speaker at the event, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed, who commended the Government for the town hall meeting, stressed the need to develop a livestock industry to meet the increasing demand for meat consumption.
