ANGLICAN CHURCH TASKS FG ON SECURITY IN NIGERIA

The Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate Anglican Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh has called on the Federal Government to effectively discharge its responsibility of providing security to the people to prevent Nigeria from degenerating into a militia country.

The Most Reverend Okoh stated this at the dedication of Cathedral Church of All Saints in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

The event was attended by top government functionaries in the state, including Governor David Umahi.

In a related development, Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh has admonished Christians not to regard resources donated for church development as profit-yielding investment.

The Primate gave advice during the dedication of New Bishop’s Court of Enugu North Diocese.

The Most Reverend Okoh who enjoined the faithful to remain steadfast in their service to God decried the attitude of some Christians who tend to influence the church with their wealth.

The Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Enugu Diocese, the Most Reverend Emmanuel Chukwuma thanked God for the progress recorded in the area.

In a remark, the Bishop of Enugu North Anglican Communion, the Right Reverend Sosthenes Eze thanked everyone who contributed to the success story and solicited the assistance of Enugu State Government in provision of access road and electricity.

Ifesinachi Ugwueze reports that the Primate in company of other Bishops had earlier inaugurated and dedicated Ejindu Microfinance Bank Limited built by the Diocese at Ninth Corner Ngwo.
