FOMER ANAMBRA FA LEADERSHIP HANDS OVER TO ILOENYOSI

The leadership of Football Association in Anambra State has been encouraged to use its tentacles and experience to ensure that grassroots sports development in the state becomes greater than what it has been.
A former Vice Chairman of the Association in the state, Mr. Jude Obikwelu, gave the advice during an official handover to the new FA leadership at the football house in Awka the state capital.
Mr. Obikwelu, who led other board members of the former FA leadership under Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, congratulated Mr. Chikelue Iloenyosi for his recognition by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as the substantive Chairman in Anambra State.
He pledged their total loyalty to the new executive.
Mr. Obikwelu described football as a unifying factor that has three major components: friendliness, Fairness and firmness.
In a remark shortly after receiving the handover note, the FA boss, Mr. Chikelue Iloenyosi, described the development as an epoch moment in the history of football administration in the state and commended the former board members for doing the needful.
The ex Super Eagles International, however, promised to tap into the wealth of experience of the stakeholders as his main goal was to ensure grassroots sports development in Anambra State and project same to the world.
In an interview, a member of the board Mr. Joe Amene, expressed confidence in the ability of the new FA Chairman in the state even as he advised him to go all out to woe local and international sponsorship.
This,he said, would no doubt be in the interest of the development of the round leather game in the area.
Highpoint of the event was the handing over of the key to an 18 seater bus donated to the association by former Governor Peter Obi in 2014, bank details as well as other property of the FA to the new executive led by Mr. Chikelue Iloenyosi.
