UMAHI SUSPENDS TRADITIONAL RULER OVER …

Ebonyi State Government has suspended the traditional ruler of Ishinkwo Community in Onitcha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Eze Josephat Ikegwu from Office.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kenneth Ugbala, explained that the suspension was as a result of his inability to stop ongoing killings in his community.

The statement directed the traditional ruler to return all government property in his possession, including his official vehicle to the State government without further delay.

“Consequently, the Traditional Ruler of Ishinkwo autonomous community is to return all government property in his possession including his official vehicle to the Secretary to the State Government/ Coordinating Commissioner on or before the close of work on Monday, October 17, 2022.

“Please note that both the suspension and return of Government property take effect immediately,” the statement read.

Radio Nigeria gathered that there has be wanton destruction of lives and property in Ishinkwo community following a lingering boundary dispute with a neighbouring community, Abomege.
