IMO STATE GOVT DISTRIBUTES RELIEF MATERIALS FLOOD VICTIMS

Imo State Government has commenced distribution of relief materials to the victims of flood disaster in Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta Local Government Areas.

In a message to the distribution, Governor Hope Uzodimma said the state government was saddened by the devastating incident and decided to commiserate with the affected victims and communities.

Senator Uzodimma, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Professor Placid Njoku, expressed worry about the loses the flooding had brought to the people and assured them of the government’s support.

He explained that the government would continue to stand with them to overcome the challenges they were facing, which he noted had affected many other states.

The Managing Director of Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Chief Charles Orie, assured the affected areas that government would sustain it’s support until the flooding subsided.

Some of the victims, who spoke with Radio Nigeria, expressed joy to have received the materials from the government and called on other public spirted individuals to come to their aid.

Some of the materials received included rice, vegetable oil, noodles, tomatoes, mattress, clothings and packaged drinking water.
