FRCN DG EXTOLS LATE JONAS EMECHEBE AS HE IS BURIED IN NNEWI

The remains of a former South-South Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Dr. Jonas Emechebe, have been laid to rest in his home town, Mbanagu Village, Otolo Nnewi, in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

At the funeral service conducted at St.Thomas Anglican Church, Otolo Nnewi, the Reverend Chukwunonso Chukwukelu, called on christian faithful to remember that there was no chance for repentance after death, hence the need for them to live a righteous life while on earth.

Late Emechebe was an accomplished Electrical Engineer, who retired as the Zonal Director, South South Zone of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and was also an adjunct Senior lecturer in the Department of Engineering, University of Abuja.

The Reverend Chukwukelu in his sermon said many people were in bondage of sin and could only be saved if they gave their lives to Christ.

He called on faithful to be mindful of their activities while on earth as there was no repentance after death.

According to him, many people were slaves to different sin but reminded them that death was inevitable as all must give account of their stewardship before their creator.

Wife of the deceased , Lady Chioma Emechebe regret that the vacuum created by his demise was too wide, but prayed that he rest in the bosom of the Lord.

The first son, Mr. Chukwuemeka described his father as a great man who lived life of sacrifice for his family and people around him.

The daughter, Chisolum, described their father as a kind and generous man, who showed them love and affection while giving them the best upbringing.

One of his brothers, Mr. Vincent Emechebe, described him as the only brother that was so dear to him and prayed God to grant him rest.

The Director General of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Dr. Mansur Liman, described the deceased as a bridge builder, who related freely with top management as well as the last man down the ladder.

Represented by the Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria Enugu zonal Station, Pastor Emmanuel Inegbedion, the DG said the living nevertheless would take solace in the fact that he lived a worthy life on earth, while praying God to grant his soul eternal rest.

“Late Jonas Emchebe was a very brilliant Engineer, especially in the area of Power systems and he did quite a lot to set up such structures in South East where he started his career with FRCN.

“It is unfortunate today he is no more, but his legacies would live for long. There is a resurrection morning when all faithful is scheduled to meet again and that is the consolation of believers.

“There is something Engineer Emechebe was always fond of saying, and that is “IT IS WELL” no matter what has happened, it is well,” DG said.

Late Dr. Jonas Nwachukwu Emechebe, who was a father of four, died at the age of 62 and was a Knight of Saint Christopher of the Anglican Communion.

He started his Career in FRCN at the Enugu National Station and rose quickly to a Deputy Director.

He was Acting Director Engineering, Abuja headquarters, returned to Enugu before his elevation as Zonal Director South-South, where he retired before his death.
