NYSC CAUTIONS CORPS MEMBERS AGAINST INVOLVEMENT IN FRAUD, EXTOLS GOVT FOR HEALTH INSURANCE COVER

The Director General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim, has commended the Federal Government for the take off of Corps members’ enrolment in the National Health Insurance Scheme known as NYSC Group Individual Family Health Insurance Programme.
He gave the commendation in a messsge to the Terminal Parade and Closing Ceremony of 2022 Batch A Orientation Course at Permanent Orientation Camp Afikpo in Ebonyi State.
Represented by the State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Mercy Dauda, the Director General explained that under the scheme, Corps members were registered with Health Care Providers in their service locations for the provision of medical care in the event of ill health.
‘’I enjoined all corps members to take full advantage of the arrangement by registering with Health Care providers.
“Let me also warn that social vices such as drug abuse and trafficking as well as advanced fee fraud will not be condoned as anyone caught will be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of NYSC Bye Law,’’ he threatened.
Major General Ibrahim appealed to corps employers to accept corps members posted to them and provide them with an enabling environment to develop their potential.
He urged the Corps members to identify with the developmental needs of their host communities and initiate personal and group Community Development Service Projects that would uplift their living standard.
