ENUGU STATE LG POLL: EXERCISE DELAYED BUT PEACEFUL IN UDENU, LGA

Conduct of LG Election in Udenu LGA of Enugu State is peaceful.

The exercise started few minutes past 9am in some of the polling units visited.

At Ohom Orba Amube ward one & two Housing 2 polliing units, accreditation & voting started simultaneously at 9.30am.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi voted at exactly 11.58am amidst tight security.

A PDP Starlwart, Mr.
Uche Nnadi, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of d process and voter turnout.

Also, some voters in an interview, said they were happy to be part of the process that would produce leaders at d grassroots.

At Central Primary School, Imilike Ani, which houses a collation center in the area, distribution of electoral materials was still ongoing as at 11am.

The Ward Returning Officer, Mr. Francis Uroko, blamed the problem on transportation challenge.

An APGA Councillorship candidate at the venue expressed disappointment with the development, complaining that it might affect voters’ turnout.

Low security presence was observed and enforcement of restriction on vehicular movement was not that strict as tricycle operators and motorists were going about their normal businesses.

There was a beehive of activities at Orie Ugwogo in Enugu East LGA and Orba Markets.

Turnout of voters in some election venues was quite impressive and low in some.
