REPORTER: AMECHI ODO

The prime suspect in the killing of an extra year student of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu Alike (AI-FUNAI) in Ebonyi State, Mr. Magnus Okeke, has been arrested by the police.

The prime suspect, whose name was given as Ogobuchi Uho alias OG Royal, was tracked and picked up from his hiding place in Port Harcourt Rivers state.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Ebonyi State, Mr. Joshua Ukandu, said though a suspect was arrested in Portharcourt River state, he was not aware whether he was the prime suspect or not.

In a reaction, the Public Relations Officer, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu Alike, Mr. Ikechukwu Elom, said the Management and Staff of the University were happy that the prime suspect had been arrested by the police.

He pointed out that the arrest would help to calm frayed nerves and agitations by students, who have been calling for the perpetrators to be prosecuted.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the prime suspect and his gang members abducted, late Magnus Okeke on June 1 while his decomposing body was found under a bridge, a few metres to the University gate a month later.
