The President General of the Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, gave the advice when he led some members of the group to pay homage to the Governor in his Nvosi country home.
Chief Iwuanyanwu said that the aim of his visit was to give a comprehensive report of the Apex Igbo socio cultural organization, Ohaneze, to the Governor and highlighted some areas the Governor could assist the group to actualize their set goals.
According to Chief Iwuanyanwu, his men in the field gave him excellent reports of the performance of Governor Otti in a short period of time in office, stressing that Igbos are proud of him and encouraged him to sustain the tempo.
Chief Iwuanyanwu, who reminded the Governor that Igbo land is blessed with abundant natural resources, including limestone, uranium, coal and oil, urged Igbos to tap into the unharnessed natural resources found in the region for economic development .
He stressed the need for Igbo people to tell their own story rather than allowing others tell incomplete story of Igbos.
Responding, Governor Alex Otti thanked Chief Iwuanyanwu for the endorsement and explained to him that he came to serve and prepared to tackle the enormous challenges ravaging the people in the state.
Governor Otti identified poor access roads as a major challenge he faced but noted that Abia had been turned to construction sites.
The Governor said he had approved an assessment of the International Glass Industry, Aba and other moribund industries.
He however pledged to give Ohaneze Ndigbo maximum support to actualize her set goals to enable the sociocultural group to wax stronger.
