EBONYI SENATORIAL BYE ELECTION PEACEFUL — VOTERS

The Senatorial Bye Election in Ebonyi South has been described as generally peaceful as voters cast their ballots unhindered.

At Onuafoukuru polling unit in Ohaozara Local Government Area, one of the voters, Mr. Francis Igwe, said Election material arrived quite early while the process of accreditation was seamless.

Another voter, Mr. Chinonso Ago, said voting was going on smoothly while security agents ensured that no breach was recorded.

The story was the same at Main Market polling Unit Obiozara, Umuobasi Hall One, Ishieke village square and Ishieke 015 as voters were seen casting their ballots peacefully.

It was however observed that many voters did not turn out for the exercise in some of the polling units visited.

Reacting to the development, one of the party agents, Mr. Chukwu Akpa, explained that many voters went home after casting their votes.

Radio Nigeria Correspondent observed that there was heavy presence of security agents at strategic places on the roads.
