POLICE ARREST 30 CRIMINAL SUSPECTS IN ANAMBRA, RECOVER ARMS, VEHICLES

Police in Anambra State say thirty suspects were arrested during the Christmas and New Year celebrations in the state.

The Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr. Aderemi Adeoye, announced this in Amawba while briefing journalists on breakthrough made by the Command from December 1, 2023 to January 8, 2024.

According to Mr. Adeoye, the determination of the command to ensure safety of lives and property during and after the yuletide yielded positive results because officers and men worked day and night.

The Commissioner of Police also said within the period, 13 vehicles snatched from their owners at different points were recovered while arms and ammunition were also recovered from the suspects.

The breakdown by the Commissioner of police showed that 12 kidnappers were arrested, 2 kidnapped victims rescued, 9 armed robbery suspects arrested,
6 cult members and 3 insurgents also apprehended within the period.

The Command also recovered 12 firearms with 40 ammunition recovered.

Radio Nigeria gathered that 3 members of the gang that attacked and killed 2 police officers on the Uga- Umunze Road last December were neutralized after a manhunt was launched against them.
