SOLUDO PROMISES N20,000 CHRISTMAS BONUS TO CIVIL SERVANTS, TO DISTRIBUTE 1,000 LAPTOPS IN 2024

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has pledged his administration’s resolve and commitment to priotizing the welfare of civil servants in the area.

The Governor, who stated this at the celebration of the 2023 Public Service Day held at Jerome Udoji Secretariat Awka, congratulated and thanked all civil servants in the state for their dedicated service to the people of Anambra State.

Governor Soludo, while speaking on the theme; “Digitalization of work processes in the public service: A Gateway to efficient resources utilization and National Development,” stressed that digitalization was imperative in the public service for efficient resource utilization and national development.

While promising a Christmas bonus of N20,000.00 to all civil servants in the state, Governor Soludo announced that 1,000 laptops would be distributed to civil servants in the coming year.

The Governor also promised to provide buses for public servants to ease their transportation challenges even as he encouraged them to participate in the distribution of palm and coconut seedlings.

He said planting of 10-15 seedlings could help them escape poverty in the coming years

Governor Soludo noted that since inception of office, his administration had cleared the backlog of outstanding gratuities accumulated by the previous administration as well as the prompt payment of salaries, which justaposed his love and support for civil servants.

Earlier, the Head of Service, Mrs. Theodora Igwegbe, lauded the Governor for approving that civil servants acquire digital skills training and his continued support of civil servants by 10% increase in workers salaries and N12,000 monthly payment from September to December palliative.

For her part, the Chairman of the occasion and former Head of Service, Mrs. Ngozi Melifeonwu, encouraged civil servants not to be wary in the discharge of their duties.

The gathering observed a minute silence for a former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, who passed on recently.
