GOV NWIFURU APPROVES N100,000 AS CHRISTMAS BONUS FOR EBONYI WORKERS

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has approved N100,000.00 as Christmas Bonus for all workers in the state civil service.

He announced this at the Launch of Elderly Support Scheme empowered by the Renewed Hope Initiative of the Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu in Abakaliki.

The announcement of N100,000 Christmas Bonus to workers in the state civil service threw the audience into frenzy mood that Governor Nwifuru was not able to make further speech.

He had earlier described the move to support the elderly as humane and urged Wives of State Governors to emulate the Wife of the President considering her disposition towards uplifting the needy.

The Wife of the Governor, Mrs. Mary Maudline Nwifuru had while reading the address of the Wife of the President explained that 250 elders would receive N100,000 each while the state government also approved that 250 widows be paid N100,000 each for their Christmas celebration.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in Ebonyi State, Mrs. Felicia Nwamkpuma, called on public spirited individuals to align themselves with the Renewed Hope Initiative and the Pet Project of the Wife of the State Governor (BERWO) to deepen humanitarian efforts at the grassroots.

A widow, Mrs. Mary Nwanioke, who attended the event, expressed appreciation to the government for remembering the needy but called for the accommodation of more persons in view of the economic difficulties in the country.
