14 YOUTH CORPS MEMBERS ABSCOND IN EBONYI
REPORTER: AMECHI ODO
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says fourteen Corps members of 2022 BATCH C Stream One absconded from their primary assignments in Ebonyi State.
The State Coordinator of the Scheme, Mrs. Olayinka Nasamu, announced this during the passing out of the Batch at Pa Ngele Oruta Stadium Abakaliki.
Mrs. Nasamu said of the 614 corps members deployed to the state, 37 had their service year extended for committing various offences.
She advised the out-gone corps members to leverage on the skills acquired during SAED programme to launch themselves into wealth creation in the absence of white collar jobs.
Some of the Corps members expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for sustaining the scheme, noting that the service had exposed them to the diversity of the nation’s culture.
