POLICE DISLODGE KIDNAP GANG IN ANAMBRA COMMUNITY, ARREST ONE

Operatives of Anti Kidnap Squad of Anambra State Police Command have smashed another kidnap gang at Nnewi Ichi in Nnewi North Local Government Area of the state.

A statement by the Command’s spokesman, Mr. Tochukwu lkenga, said the squad, which was on patrol with some vigilantes, got information about a hideout of the gang and stormed the place.

The statement said a kidnapped victim, who was found in the hideout was rescued and conveyed to a hospital in Nnewi for treatment.

It said one of the suspected kidnappers was arrested while the operatives recovered one Pump Action Gun and two locally fabricated hand grenades at the hideout.

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aderemi Adeoye, while commending the operatives and the Vigilante for the collaboration that had been effective against criminal elements, asked them to sustain the onslaught until crime is reduced to the barest minimum and people could move around freely in the area.
