INEC ISSUES CERTIFICATE OF RETURN TO GOVERNOR-ELECT, 17 ASSEMBLY MEMBERS-ELECT IN EBONYI

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued Certificates of Return to the Governor Elect in Ebonyi State, Chief Francis Nwifuru and seventeen House of Assembly Members Elect following their victory in the March 18 polls.
The function was performed by the INEC National Commissioner incharge of Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States, Mr. Kenneth Ukeagu, at INEC Headquarters Abakaliki.
The INEC Collation Centre, venue for the presentation of the Certificate of Return to the winners, was filled to capacity as Mr. Ukeagu took time to call out the recipients.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ebonyi State, Mrs. Onyeka Ugochi, explained that the Commission was delighted to have discharged its mandate, noting that supplementary election would be conducted in Ezza North and Ishielu Federal Constituency as well as five state constituencies on April 15, 2023.
“I call on the candidates to make supplementary Election peaceful, devoid of violence,” he pleaded.
The Governor Elect, Chief Francis Nwifuru, who received the Certificate along with his Deputy, Princess Patricia Obila, said his administration would uphold the rule of law, principles of separation of powers and extend infrastructural development to the hinterlands.
He promised to run an all-inclusive government and urged his opponents to join hands with him to deepen the development of the state.
Of the 17 House of Assembly members-elect so far issued with certificates, two were females.
