BE READY TO LOSE YOUR LIFE IF YOU DISRUPT ELECTION— DIG

The Deputy Inspector General Police (DIG)in charge of election in the South East zone, Mr. John Amadi, has warned hoodlums to stay away from polling units during the Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly election in the zone.

Mr. Amadi gave the warning while addressing top police officers at the Police Officers Mess, Umuahia in Abia State.

He also warned that any person that may try to disrupt the election should be ready to lose his life as security personnel had been placed on red alert to deal decisively with such a person.

Mr. Amadi advised youths not to allow politicians to use them as thugs to disrupt the electoral process during the election.

The DIG called on the electorate in the state to feel free to exercise their franchise by voting for candidates of their choice in the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly polls in the state.

He announced that the Police command in Abia State had taken delivery of some anti-riot equipment sent by the Inspector General of Police to the command.
