SHOCKING AS HUNTER DISCOVERS THOUSANDS OF UNCOLLECTED PVCs NEAR RIVER IN ANAMBRA COMMUNITY

Thousands of uncollected Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVC) have been found in a bush by a hunter in Nnewi, Anambra State.
The PVCs were said to have been parked in a “Ghana Must Go bag” concealed in big rubber bucket and dumped in the bush at Akammili Umudim, Nnewi North local government area.
The hunter, who brought the uncollected hidden cards to a private Radio station (Authority FM, Nnewi), said he went hunting when he discovered the bucket containing the Permanent Voter’s cards In the bush.
Reacting to the issue, the member representing Nnewi North constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Smart Okafor, described the development as “worrisome, shocking, terrible and alarming.”
Mr. Okafor said the situation called for questions on how such quantity of PVCs got into the bush when it was clear that INEC was responsible for the distribution of the cards.
When contacted on telephone, the Resident Electoral Commissioner INEC, Anambra State, Doctor Queen Elizabeth Agwu, declined comment saying that she would be having a press briefing in Awka where journalists would be allowed to ask their questions.
In an interview, the Police Public Relations Officer in the Statr, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga said though the command was yet to receive any official report about the viral video, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Echeng Echeng, had ordered investigation into the matter to uncover the source of the Permanent Voter Cards.
Radio Nigeria gathered that the PVCs, which were said to have names of electorate within the Nnewi axis, had been moved to the palace of the traditional ruler of Nnewi for people to go for identification and possible collection by their rightful owners.
