NSCDC MOBILISES PERSONNEL, ASSURES OF PEACEFUL ELECTION CONDUCT IN ANAMBRA

The Assistant Commandant General in charge of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Zone K Awka, Mr. Solomon Iyamu, has charged personnel to be deployed for the conduct of 2023 general elections to be familiar with the procedures guiding the conduct of the exercise.

Addressing officers and men of the command at the State Headquarters Awka, Mr. Iyamu said with the massive deployment of personnel, citizens would be at liberty to make free choices in a free, fair and peaceful manner during the exercise.

He reiterated the call for officers to be apolitical, be at their best and avoid any act capable of bringing shame to the Corps.

Meanwhile, the State Commandant of NSCDC in the State, Mr. Chukwudi Chikere has assured all residents of the state that the NSCDC, in collaboration with all the sister security agencies, is committed to ensuring the security of everyone through the deployment of officers to all the polling units in the state.

This is contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Corps in the state, Mr. Edwin Okadigbo.

According to the statement, Mr. Chikere gave the assurance during his last minute meeting with all the Area Commanders, Divisional Officers and personnel set to be deployed for the exercise at the state Command Headquarters Awka.

The statement, while noting that Mr. Chikere reaffirmed that no body would be allowed to disrupt the polling process, appealed to front runners in the election to caution all their supporters to restrain themselves from causing chaos as such would not be tolerated.
