POLICE NAP 9 SUSPECTED ELECTRICITY VANDALS IN ANAMBRA, RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLES

The Police Command in Anambra State has arrested nine persons suspected to have vandalized electricity mast in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of the State.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, stated this in a statement in Awka.
The statement indicated that the police operatives, in conjunction with the vigilance group, were acting on credible information at New Site, Ikpo Urueze Land, Oba, when they arrested the suspects.
According to the statement, the suspects include Amara Nneji (female), Kinsley Iwuozo, Romanus Dim and Abuchi Onuoha.
Others are Chukwudi Eke, Ikechukwu Eze, Monday Ukpe, Bartholomew Anugwueje and Christopher Ikenna.
The statement explained that the operatives recovered a truck containing seven welding machines, some irons, and other sophisticated equipment from the suspects after they allegedly vandalized the electricity power line mast in the area.
The statement, which claimed that all the suspects confessed to their involvement in the act, pointed out that they would be arraigned in court on the conclusion of investigations.
In a similar development, the statement said some operatives while on patrol recovered two vehicles suspected to have been stolen and abandoned.
They are Lexus ES 350 black colour with registration number, LAGOS AKD 495 HU and a Toyota Camry, grey colour with registration number, LAGOS: JJJ 653 HW.
The statement invited anyone or group looking for any of the vehicles as highlighted, to come to the office of the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Awka with valid proof or evidence of ownership of such vehicles for verification and possible collection.
