YULETIDE SECURITY: NSCDC DEPLOYS PERSONNEL TO STRATEGIC POSITIONS IN ABIA

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Abia State Command, has deployed its officers and men to strategic locations across the state to ensure adequate security during and after the yuletide.

The State Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Muhammed Sanyinna, made this known in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Ndukwe Egwu.

The statement explained that the strategic deployment of its personnel and resources paid special attention to worship and event centres, government installations, motor parks and markets, while motorized patrols had been stepped up to cover soft targets and black spots.

The statement reminded commanders of the specialized units of the command of the need to be on full alert to nip crimes in the bud and ensure hitch-free celebrations, bearing in mind that the season would be characterized by increased pressure on security and traffic.

The statement, while wishing residents and visitors to the state peaceful celebrations, urged them to remain law-abiding to sustain the relative peace being enjoyed in the area.
