GOV UMAHI ORDERS ARREST OF FOOD VENDOR

REPORTER: AMECHI ODO

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has ordered for the arrest of a food vendor for allegedly diverting funds released to her to cook and supply jollof rice at a Christmas party organised for elders and widows in the state.

The Governor had while addressing the widows and elders at the State Ecumenical Centre Abakaliki frowned at the poor quality of the food and ordered the police to investigate the woman for corruption.

He noted that the vendor could not taste the jollof rice when he mandated her to do so and frowned at the rate politicians divert what was meant for the poor in the society.

Governor Umahi apologised to the widows and elders for the poor treatment and promised that the party would be reorganised where quality food would be served them.

He said he had also ordered that wrappers given to them as gifts be replaced with a quality brand.
