GOV UMAHI PRESENTS 2023 OVER 139 BILLION APPROPRIATION BILL

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has presented #139.3 billion as 2023 Budget proposal before the State House of Assembly in Abakaliki.

Tagged Budget of Divine Mandate Consolidation and Continuity, Governor Umahi explained that the 2023 Budget proposal was 4.13% less than that of the 2022 Appropriation Law of #145 billion.

He noted that the Recurrent Expenditure of the 2023 Budget was #58.3 billion covering 41.87% while Capital Expenditure stood at #81 billion.

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Francis Nwifuru, commended Governor Umahi for ensuring massive infrastructural development of the state and promised that the House would ensure speedy passage of the Budget.

The Budget later passed the first and second reading preparatory to defence appearance by Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
