GOV SOLUDO EMBARKS ON MASSIVE ROAD PROJECTS

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has commissioned the rehabilitation and asphalting of 1.7km road and drainage in Umuoji Idemili North Local Government area, Anambra State.
While performing the function, Governor Soludo reiterated his administration’s resolve to develop the state through a Public Community Private Partnership and not solely by government funding.
The Governor maintained his administration’s readiness to embark on similar road projects in various communities of the state.
He applauded the philanthropic gesture of Chief Val Onwumelu in road construction while appreciating communities for embarking on various self-help development projects.
In a remark, the Transition Committee Chairman Idemili North Local Government, Mr. Chuks Igboanua, lauded Governor Soludo’s achievements within a short time in office.
The Chairman also called the Governor’s attention to some projects in the area abandoned by previous administrations, adding that the community had keyed into the Governor’s clean and liveable homeland initiative.
Also, the Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Okoma, restated government’s determination towards constructing durable roads across communities in the state.
Similarly, Governor Soludo has commissioned the rehabilitation of the failed portions of the popular Mmili John road, in Ojoto, Idemili South Council Area.
The Governor stated that his administration was desirous of constructing strategic roads linking communities.
The Governor assured that his administration was determined to end the age long notion that the axis was a death trap, especially after rainfall due to the overflow of floods unto the road.
The Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Okoma explained the contractor would dredge 500 meters of the river by both sides and desilt the culvert to widen the river flow.
The Commissioner promised that the project would be completed in six weeks.
Meanwhile Governor Soludo had earlier lunched reconstruction of some roads in Ogbaru and Anambra West Local Government Areas.
