NIS PROMOTES 43 OFFICERS IN ANAMBRA AS CG CAUTIONS AGAINST EXTORTION OF E-PASSPORT APPLICANTS

Forty-three officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Anambra State have been elevated to their new ranks.
In a message to the decoration of the officers at the Immigration Service office in Awka, the Comptroller General of the agency, Mr. Isah Idris, congratulated them, urging them to continue to demonstrate commitment and efficiency in service delivery as a way of justifying their promotion.
Represented by the Zonal Coordinator, Zone G, Mr. Dominic Asogwa, the Comptroller General tasked the newly decorated officers to contribute their quota towards national security and protection of the Nigerian constitution.
He also urged officers, who were not considered for promotion, not to relent in the performance of their statutory duties but to believe God for their turn.
He used the opportunity to explain that the new e-passport was part of the reformation in the Nigerian Immigration Service, an effort aimed at enabling Nigerians to have expanded avenue to apply for International Passports.
Immigration boss also admonished the officers not to charge more than the approved government prices of issuance of passport.
Earlier in a welcome address, the Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, Anambra State Command, Mrs. Ngozi Odikpo, also charged the newly promoted officers to uphold the tenets of their service and not to relent in their individual and collective efforts to strengthen the security of the country.
Radio Nigeria gathered that four Assistant Comptrollers of Immigration were promoted to Chief Superintendent of Immigration, and six Assistant Superintendents of Immigration 1, promoted to Deputy Superintendents.
Others include nineteen Assistant Superintendents of Immigration 2, promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Immigration 1 as well as thirteen upgraded officers who were previously Junior personnel upgraded to Assistant Superintendents of Immigration 1.
