EBONYI RELEASES #1.8BN AS EMPOWERMENT FUND

Ebonyi State Government has released one point eighty billion Naira for the empowerment of the people of the state.

Briefing journalists in Abakaliki, the Commissioner for information, Mr. Uchenna Orji, explained that the fund was approved at the state Executive Council meeting.

According to the Commissioner, nine hundred million Naira of the released fund was for NG-CARES Empowerment programme with farmers, SMEs, Market men and women, youths and Public Work volunteers as beneficiaries.

He noted that the money would be disbursed through CSDA, FADAMA, and MSMEs under the Ministries of Human Capital Development, Agriculture and Natural Resource as well as Commerce and Industry.

He further stated that the balance of Nine hundred million Naira would be disbursed to three thousand women and youths as ENDSARS empowerment package in the state.

He noted that each beneficiary would get three hundred thousand Naira.
