ANALYST COMMENDS SUPER FALCONS DESPITE DEFEAT

Some football lovers in Umuahia, Abia State, have extolled the performance of the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the ongoing Women African Cup of Nations in Morocco.

They gave the kudos while reacting to the elimination of the ninth time Champions by host, Morocco in the second semifinals match played Monday night.

One of them, a sports commentator, Mr. Chimere Onyema, said despite losing two key players in the second half of the match, the Super Falcons exhibited high sense of courage and enthusiasm throughout the game.

He explained that if the girls had converted the chances they got in the first half, Nigeria would had won the match but pointed out that the two red cards contributed in disorganizing the entire team.

Mr. Onyema made strong case for the introduction of new players to replace the aging players in the Super Falcons’ team before the FIFA Women’s World Cup, noting that the Morrocan side, were made up of younger players, which was an added advantage to the team.

For her part, Miss Amarachi Nwogu said the coach would had fortified the defence line when the team scored, noting that the equalizing goal by their opponent was as a result of defensive error.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria lost to Morocco Five-four on penalty after the ninety minutes of play and the extra time ended in one-all draw.
