VP VISITS ANAMBRA, ASSURES GOV SOLUDO OF IMPROVED SECURITY

The Federal Government has assured Anambra State Government of maximum cooperation to ensure that security of lives and property takes its pride of place in the area and Nigeria at large.
Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, gave the assurance when he was received in audience by Governor Chukwuma Soludo at Governor’s Lodge Amawbia.
The Vice President says that security is the first order of business, noting that law and order are imperative for the smooth running of government.
While revealing that President Buhari had re-engineered his security architecture, Vice President Osinbajo expressed optimism that the move would soon start to yield the desired result.
While expressing expectation of Anambra State making significant contributions to the National interest, Professor Osinbajo described Governor Soludo as a great asset to Nigeria, revealing that he had very much sought for Professor Soludo’s advice on Nigeria’s economic matters in the past.
Earlier, Governor Soludo had unveiled his administration’s massive urban regeneration efforts, road and traffic management among other programmes.
Professor Soludo called for assistance from the Federal Government in tackling insecurity in the state, saying that the armed forces were working very hard to keep the country safe.
The Governor said that there was something important about genuine progressives and called for all progressives to form a coalition in building a dream Nation.
Governor Soludo, who described the Vice President as someone who had given spectacular leadership, said he that did well in areas he was assigned to handle.
Governor Soludo told the Vice President that the State Government had declared state of emergency on roads, traffic, erosion, among others.
Some top government functionaries including, the secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi; among others were present during the Vice President’s visit.
