EID-EL-FITR: FRSC DEPLOYS OVER 1,000 PERSONNEL ACROSS ANAMBRA

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State says it has deployed over one thousand personnel officers, which comprises the regular and special marshals, to manage traffic during the Eid-el Fitir celebration.

This is to ensure a free flow of traffic in all routes within the state.

The FRSC Sector Commander, Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi, stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Awka.

According to the Sector Commander, special attention will be given to the state capital, Awka, the Bridge- head in Onitsha, Onitsha-Owerri Road and other critical areas that are noted for traffic gridlocks across the state.

Mr. Irelewuyi explained that the deployed regular and special marshals would ensure safe, smooth vehicular movement, traffic control as well as to give prompt attention to victims of road traffic crashes within the festive period.

He assured motorists of the command’s readiness to render prompt rescue services in the event of road crashes and immediate removal of obstructions.

The FRSC boss in Anambra State, however, warned drivers to desist from offences, including driving under the influence of alcohol and drug as well as dangerous overtaking, overloading, over speeding, wrongful overtakingand route violation.

Mr. Irelewuyi also advised motorists to always plan their journeys ahead, keep their cars in good shape and be patient while using the road.
