NYSC BEGS EMPLOYERS IN EBONYI NOT TO REJECT CORPS MEMBERS POSTED TO THEM

REPORTER: AMECHI ODO

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has called on corps members to devote time to identify the felt needs of their host communities and initiate personal and group projects to improve on their living standard.

The Director General of the Scheme, Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim, gave the piece of advice during the terminal parade to mark the end of a three week orientation course for 2022 Batch A Stream Two Corps members at Permanent Orientation Camp Afikpo.

Represented by the State Coordinator of the scheme, Mrs. Mercy Bamai, the Director General reminded the corp members that the future of the nation rested on their shoulders and required that they brace up and contribute to the development and unity of the country.

He noted that their welfare and security were topmost priority as NYSC would continue to sustain its collaboration with relevant agencies and stakeholders to ensure their safety in the areas of primary assignment.

Major General Ibrahim urged them to step down the skills they acquired during the SAED programme in the camp as part of efforts by the Federal Government to lift many out of poverty.

The Director General called on corp employers not to reject those posted to them but accord them necessary assistance and provisions to enable them to develop their potential.
