FG TRAINS 158 EBONYI YOUTHS ON PHONE REPAIRS, PROVIDES THEM WITH STARTER PARKS

The Federal Government has trained over six thousand youths in smart phone repairs and services across the country as part of efforts to reduce unemployment under N-Skill component of National Social Investment Programme.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouk stated this in a message to the closing ceremony of the training in Abakaliki.
One hundred and fifty eight youths in Ebonyi State benefited from the Smart Phone Repair training, which lasted for six weeks and were provided with starter packs.
The Minster for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouk represented by her Special Assistant incharge of Administration, Mr. Kingsley Ngene described N-Skill programme as a fallout of the restructuring of National Social Investment Programme while Smart Phone Repair training was used as a pilot project.
The Minister noted that the beneficiaries were selected from the marginalized and disadvantaged population and would be subjected to six months informal apprenticeship system to be anchored by Master Craft agents.
The Project Manager, Mr. Olughu Azudu, explained that over two hundred and nine persons were enlisted for the training but only one hundred and fifty-eight participated.
He pointed out that a monitoring mechanism had been put in place to eliminate truancy and abscondment during the apprenticeship training with the Master Craft agents.
Some of the beneficiaries, Mr. Moses Nwalo and Mr. Henry Ugbala, expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for the training and promised to deploy the knowledge and tools provided to them effectively.
