REPORTER: AMECHI ODO

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has filed a stay of execution and an appeal against the judgment of the Federal High Court Abuja, which sacked him and his Deputy, Dr. Kelechi Igwe from office.

He stated this while addressing a crowd that blocked Udensi Roundabout Abakaliki in solidarity with his administration.

Governor Umahi called on his supporters to be peaceful, noting that the state government had confidence in the judiciary and would never insult its Principals as insinuated.

“Go about your business very peacefully and let me assure the NBA Chairman that we will never insult the Judiciary.

“We have confidence in the Judiciary and we have engaged eight SAN to proceed to Abuja; we have engaged ten SAN to proceed to Enugu, we are battle ready.” he boasted.

Governor Umahi noted that he would petition the Nigerian Bar Association to look into the conduct of their members who he claimed deceived Justice Inyang Ekwo to rule against him, his Deputy and some of the State lawmakers .
