Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has reiterated his administration’s readiness to keep youths busy through Job creation and empowerment.
The Governor stated this in a Valentine concert organized for Imo youths in an effort to hunt for talent through entertainment at Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square, Owerri.
He assured the youth that the rejuvenated and rehabilitated Ada Palm would provide thirty-five thousand jobs, the recovered Standard Shoe Industry would provide seven thousand, five hundred jobs, while the Export Processing Zone Project, which took the government to Cote d’Ivoire alongside other State governors of the country, would employ over fifty thousand youths when fully activated.
The Governor told Imo youths that the prosperity of State was in their hands and that for Imo to be reconstructed, rehabilitated and recovered, the youth must be part of the process.
However, Governor Uzodimma appealed to the youth to help the State Government to identify the bandits and hoodlums wreaking havoc in the State.
This is to ensure that Imo State would freely be developed to meet the expectations of both the founding fathers and the youths.
Earlier in a welcome address, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Social Media Influence, Mr. Paschal Okechukwu (popularly known as Cubans Priest), said the programme was targeted at making Imo youths technologically sound to face modern challenges.
The programme featured the presentation of two brand new cars won by two youths in a lucky deep and the presentation of two thousand seven hundred smart phones to the Imo youths with free airtime and data.
