EBONYI LAWMAKER RESCUES 17 TRAFFICKED EBONYI CHILDREN

Seventeen children trafficked from Ebonyi to different parts of Ogun State have been rescued and reunited with their family members in Abakaliki.
Their rescue was facilitated by the member representing Ikwo and Ezza Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Comrade Chinedu Ogar.
Child trafficking has continued to fester in Ebonyi State in spite of efforts by security agencies, the state government and individuals to curb the menace.
The rescue of seventeen children by Comrade Chinede Ogar was the latest in a series of breakthroughs recorded in the state in recent time.
Handing over the victims to the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in Abakaliki to reunite them with their families, Comrade Ogar explained that he facilitated the rescue mission when he got information about their ordeal.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in the State, Mrs. Chinwe Okah, noted that the state government would leave no stone unturned in prosecuting those behind the trafficked children.
The rescued children were seven females and ten males aged between fourteen and nineteen.
