VICTIMS OF RECENT CIVIL DISTURBANCES IN AZUOFIDA COMMUNITY,EBONYI STATE RECEIVE RELIEF MATERIALS

ebonyi3About one hundred and forty eight families affected by recent civil disturbances in Azuofida Community in Abakaliki Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have received relief materials worth over Thirty Million Naira from the State government.

Handing over the materials at Government House Abakaliki, Governor David Umahi explained that the gesture was to alleviate the sufferings of the victims who fled their homes as a result of alleged attacks from a neighbouring Community .

Represented by his Deputy, Dr Kelechi Igwe, the Governor reiterated the commitment of his administration to finding lasting solutions to inter boundary and communal disturbances in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Caretaker Chairman of the Local Government, Mr. Peter Nwogbaga commended the State Government for the kind gesture, promising that the community would continue to be law abiding.

The relief materials include Foams, Bags of rice, Wrappers, and Insecticidal Treated Nets.
