UNICEF COMMENDS ANAMBRA FOR TIMELY RELEASE OF ITS COUNTER FUND

Anambra State Government says it has approved the release of its counterpart contribution to all the development Agencies in the area.
The Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget and Development Partners in the State, Mr. Mark Okoye made this known in a One Day Mid-Term Review and Planning Meeting in Awka.

He said the Partners played a critical role in the development of the State and urged them to sustain the tempo. Mr. Okoye identified the provision of adequate security as one of the key factors that attracted investors to the area.

The Commissioner observed that the Anambra was the only state in the country that did not go into recession last year, because of its prudent management of available resources.

In a remark, the Chief Field Officer, UNICEF Enugu, Dr. Ibrahim Conteh commended the State Government’s development initiatives. Dr Conteh applauded the State Government’s timely release of its counter fund and described it as one of the best in the country.
