SECURITY EXPERTS CALL FOR INTELLIGENCE SHARING IN TACKLING TERRORISM IN THE COUNTRY.
The National Security Adviser to the President, retired General Babagana Monguno has advocated interstate collaboration through intelligence sharing to tackle terrorism in the country.
General Monguno stated this in a message to a stakeholders’ workshop held in Enugu on “Counter Terrorism Strategy Implementation, and Sensitization.”
The National Security Adviser to the President who was represented by the Head of National Counter Terrorist Strategy, NACTEST, Mr. Alhassa Abubakar Hussein called on states and various organizations to embrace the Federal Government’s programs on Counter Terrorism to ensure the safety of the people and counter the negative impact of terrorism.
In a remark, the representative of the General Officer Commanding Eighty-Two Division, Nigerian Army, Enugu, Colonel S.A Amusa said that the issue of security was not just for the armed forces but a call for everybody.
The Enugu State Governor, who was represented on the occasion by the Secretary to the State Government, Elder Gabriel Ajah pledged the administration’s commitment towards ensuring security through collaborative efforts of the various security agencies in the area.
The two-day workshop attracted stakeholders in the sector from across the southeast zone.
