RE-BRANDING OF COAL CITY FM ENUGU TAKES CENTRE STAGE

RD SHOWEvents marking the official commencement of the Coal City FM re-branding project began yesterday with a road show to some parts of Enugu metropolis. The show which featured distribution of fliers to the public attracted many fans of Coal City FM, popularly known as the Sparkling Voice of the East.

The event saw many members of staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria,  FRCN, Enugu National station led by the Zonal Director, Mr Ike Okere moving through major roads and streets in some parts of Enugu metropolis, sharing fliers and informing the people that Coal city FM,92.9, was being re-branded for better performance.

_DSC0791The show started from the broadcasting house at Onitsha road, through kingsway road with a brief stop at Enugu North Local Government headquarters. It continued through market road, Edinburgh road to college road. The train made a U-turn at University of Nigeria, Enugu campus gate went through Mkpokiti road to the Institute of Management and Technology, IMT. Enugu.

At IMT, some management staff of FRCN Enugu addressed the students and staff members on the rebranding programme geared towards making the Coal City FM the best in town before the train continued through Presidential road, Ogui road Okpara Avenue, the State Secretariat and then back to the broadcasting house.

_DSC0773Speaking on the occasion, the Zonal Director of the station, Mr. Ike Okere called on residents of Enugu and its environs to continue to listen to the station and participate actively in the programmes for maximum benefits. A mass communication student, Mr. Collins Ugwu said the station did well by embarking on the road show. Other respondents who spoke with Radio Nigeria commended the station for its interesting and educative programmes and said they were looking forward to the new coal city.

The new coal city FM now designated ‘All News, All talk and All sports’ would be officially launched on Monday 19th June 2017.
