The Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly, Chief Edward Ubosi has stressed the need for political office holders to respond to the developmental needs of the people as a way of strengthening the nations democracy.
Chief Ubosi stated this while inaugurating some projects in Enugu East local government area. The law maker noted that democracy as the government of the people can only be meaningful when the cardinal needs of people were being provided.
He commended the Enugu State Government for its people oriented programmes and policies. Chief Ubosi regretted that inadequate intervention in some of critical infrastructure especially in rural areas were major causes of agitations and called for attention to those issues. The speaker reiterated the commitment of the House in providing legislation that would spur provision of infrastructure to the people.
Some of the beneficiaries of the projects commended the State Legislature and the Executive for their cordial relationship which had translated to rapid development of the area.
