Ahead of the Local Council election in Enugu State, the State Command of Nigerian Police, has received a Hilux Van, from a Public Spirited Nigerian to boost its duties of safeguarding lives and property.
Presenting the car keys to the Commissioner of Police at the Command’s Headquarters in Enugu, the donor and traditional ruler of AguneeseMmaku in Awgu Local Government Area, Igwe Cyprian Nevobasi commended the police for maintaining peace and security in the state. Igwe Nevobasi said his donation of the Hilux Van to the Police, was to ease their work and enhance their mobility, especially in time of emergency.
The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Danmalam thanked the donor for his support to the police, pledged to put the vehicle to effective use of combating crime and security patrols.
Mr Danmalam used the opportunity to call on the people of the state including politicians to be law abiding and play by the rules in the upcoming local government election this Saturday.
He said that the police were committed to ensuring security and maintaining law and order in the society.
