PARENTS TOLD TO ENCOURAGE THEIR CHILDREN IN THEIR CHOSEN CAREER

Parents are encouraged to support their children’s choice of career to enable them to become fulfilled individuals in the society. The Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Enugu National Station, Mr Ike Okere made the call during a “Self Reliance Arts Exhibition” by the Air Force Comprehensive Secondary School, Agbani, held at National Gallery of Arts Enugu.

Mr Okere expressed displeasure over attitude of some Parents who imposed their will on their children when it comes to making choices especially if their wards are arts inclined.

“Let me make it clear to parents, Science alone does not make a nation, Science alone does not make a human being, Science may deal with the quantity, Arts deal with quality.”

The Zonal Director commended the school for its giant strides in Arts.

In a remark, the Air Officer Commanding, Ground Training Command,  Nigeria Air Force, Enugu, represented by the Chief of Staff of the Command, Air Commodore N. O. Oyibo commended the students  and teachers of the school for the their ingenuity in field of Arts.

The Convener of the Art exhibition who is the Art Director of the School, Mr Ifedilichukwu Chibuike said the aim of the event was to encourage Parents and members of the Public to appreciate the work of Arts.

Two of the students, Master Godson Onoggo and Miss Faith Njoku whose art works were titled “Thuggery in 2019 election” and “Nature of Humans” respectively explained the meaning of their various concepts.

“In the last election, I was hearing something like ballot boxes were taken away by thugs, so I created this Art work to tell the thugs to please change their bad ways.” (Godson Onoggo)

“When we were small, we learnt how to do Art works from our imaginations so we become better persons.” (Faith Njoku)

The event featured cultural dances, drama presentation and recitation of poem as well as unveiling of the Art Gallery.
